the college piano shows how a difficult investment can reap beautiful rewards.

my roommate found someone offering a free piano and was absolutely ecstatic. there was, however, a reason that it was free. the piano was heavy, and my friend was told 'if you can move it, you can have it.' so, of course, she enlisted the help of around five of our friends. did we use professional movers? of course not! did we need them? absolutely.
​
but, because her friends loved her, they moved it for the price of a homemade pie, and they didn't complain when said pie was accidentally dropped on the floor.
the piano now serves as a gathering place -- people will come to borrow it since they don't have a piano, or we will all gather around and listen to someone play. a friend will teach another friend their favorite song, or a roommate will play badly until she annoys someone just enough to start another conversation.

the initial investment and kindness of those friends has payed itself a million times over in the joy, laughter, and connection this piano brings to everyone around it.
